Tissue insight

Real Time Firing Curve

From segmented indication to continuous insight. The load is drawn as it happens, on the handle, in the surgeon's line of sight.

The firing curve display: a continuous load curve over a 0 to 60 millimetre scale.
Close-up of the IRIS handle with the firing curve shown on the built-in screen.
The screen sits on top of the handle, so the curve is visible without looking away from the field.

Real-time audible and visual feedback

See. Hear. Act with confidence.

Tissue condition alert Prevents unsafe firing.
Pre-compression A timed hold before firing, for optimal staple formation.
Articulation awareness Alert at 0° and at maximum angle.

Ultraflex™ 90

Extending access where it matters most

Conventional staplers are limited to 45°–55° articulation, which restricts access in confined anatomy. Ultraflex 90 reaches past that limit, enabling precise horizontal and lower distal transection.

The IRIS jaw shown at three articulation angles: forty-five, sixty-five and ninety degrees off the shaft.

Ergonomics

Direction-True articulation

Turning right articulates right at any rotation of the shaft — no re-mapping, one-handed.

A gloved hand on the IRIS handle, thumb on the articulation controls.

Optimised weight and balance for precise control. The articulation controls sit under the thumb, so the hand never leaves the grip to change angle.

Detachable power

The battery leaves the handle

That single decision is what removes the charging downtime. Swap the pack, keep operating — one handle is enough.

The pack lifts out of the handle. No cable, no waiting for the instrument to charge.

Workflow

Reprocessing, in a minute

Powered by a sustainable platform. The bars below are drawn to the same scale.

Conventional reposable systems

60minutes

  • Battery built into the handle — charging downtime, and multiple handles to coordinate.
  • Reusable adapter and separate shell — re-sterilisation required before every case.
  • Operational complexity across the set.
IRIS

1minute

  • Detachable power system — quick battery swap, so one handle is enough.
  • UniShell adapter, fully disposable — single-step setup, no re-sterilisation.
  • Reusable handle on a sustainable platform.
